South Benfleet

Completed close to home as part of a wider loft extension incorporating a new double bedroom, the brief from HR for this bathroom was straightforward: create a space that felt contemporary, light and stylish, while remaining practical and easy to maintain.

Large-format grey marble-effect tiles provide a clean, consistent finish throughout, complemented by contrasting dark floor tiles and crisp white detailing. Chrome fittings add a smart contemporary edge, with a generous walk-in shower featuring both rainfall and handheld shower options, alongside a large heated towel rail.

Making the most of the available natural light was also important. The soft green walls introduce a little warmth and colour, preventing the predominantly grey and white scheme from feeling too clinical.

One detail we're particularly pleased with is the upcycled vanity unit. Rather than replacing the existing wooden cabinet, we adapted and repurposed it to accommodate a new countertop and vessel basin. The natural timber adds warmth and character to the room and provides a nice contrast to the more contemporary finishes around it.

The result is a bright, comfortable and highly usable bathroom that sits perfectly alongside the new loft bedroom - modern where it needs to be, practical for everyday use and with a little individuality thrown in for good measure.
